If Nintendo wanted to hide the fact that they’re creating a new Legend of Zelda game, they’re not trying very hard. As of the time of this article’s publication, there are two job postings for the series on the Nintendo Japan website. They’re looking for level designers and terrain and topography specialists.

It shouldn’t come as any surprise that Nintendo is working on the next Legend of Zelda game. The franchise is one of Nintendo’s most profitable and beloved series of all time. Considering the success of the most recent entry in the Zelda franchise, The Breath of the Wild, as the best selling game in the series (not including remasters) – it makes sense that they are already planning out the future.

Currently, there are no leaks regarding what the gameplay will look like, what the story will entail, or if the game will be a sequel to its predecessor or its own title. However, given the massive success of Breath of the Wild, we can probably expect even more open world gameplay and the same feeling of freedom. In fact, in an exclusive interview with IGN, the Breath of the Wild’s producer, Eiji Aonuma, confirmed “that level of freedom [regarding Breath of the Wild] is something that needs to be maintained in Zelda games going forward.”

The future of the Zelda franchise looks bright and we’re eager to see what will be included in the next game. What are you looking forward to? Do you hope that the gameplay will be similar to The Breath of the Wild, or are you hoping for a more retro feel in the next game? Do you think that the next game will be a sequel or its own title?
